About You:
You're comfortable working with people and enjoy problem-solving. You dress neatly and are presentable. You're good at reading people's facial expressions and know when to back off and when to charge forward with a solution. Our customers love dealing with you. You're organized, can make logical notes about the work you've done and plan for future work. You used both Macs and PCs but Macs are what really excite you. This is a full-time position with benefits and great growth opportunity. Compensation includes benefits package. Some travel required (MacWorld, WWDC, for example). Salary depends on experience from 30-50K.
Preferred Skills to Include:
Proven Mac OS X and Mac OS X Server experience
Workstation installation and maintenance
Application installation and OS updates
Scheduled maintenance routines
Knowledge of Ethernet and wireless networks and basic networking (switch, router, wireless)
Responsive and detail-oriented
Desire to work within a team, and the ability to work independently
Previous experience in the field, or education (computer science major) or A+ equivalent or Mac OS X certification
Excellent technology problem solving skills and a "can-do" attitude
Must have their own transportation and be willing to some work irregular hours including nights and weekends
Must be able to self-manage with minimal supervision and low re-work
Knowledge of graphic arts, multimedia and fonts including Adobe Photoshop, Bridge, Illustrator, InDesign CS2 and CS3
Knowledge Microsoft Entourage in and Exchange environment
Knowledge Microsoft Office X thru 2008
Knowledge of Font Management Software including Extensis Suitcase, client and server editions
Backup Software knowledge (Retrospect, BRU, Time Machine)
Knowledge of Apple Classic/Mac OS 9
Highly Desirable:
Apple certifications a plus
Backup Software knowledge (Retrospect, BRU, Backup Exec)
Knowledge of Cumulus Workgroup
Knowledge of Citrix remote desktop software
Knowledge of FTP Desktop applications
Primary Job Responsibilities:
*Manage IT Desktop Support requests, focusing on Mac support
*Resolve software and hardware support issues on Macs running OS X Panther, Tiger, and Leopard*Support software such as Microsoft Office, Adobe Creative Suite 2 and 3 for Mac OS X,
*Provide integration of Macs into network
*Handle setup and support of laptops, desktops, and printers.
*Work with the Network & Systems Admin teams on coordinating cross-team projects
*Perform preventative maintenance on equipment
*Make hardware and software recommendations
*Troubleshoot and handle repair of warranty and non-warranty hardware
